ERIC SEDGWICK is New York-based pianist, accompanist and vocal coach. He is a staff coach at the Manhattan School of Music, and a coach and music director at the OperaWorks training program in Los Angeles. He holds positions with many local organizations including Opera Singers Initiatives, the Art Song Preservation Society of New York, Riverfront Opera and the Stonewall Chorale, and has been playing with Broadway Concerts Direct in Wurtsboro for five years. Recently he has served as accompanist for Cutting Edge Concerts’s productions at Symphony Space, for Carnegie Hall’s Carmina Burana Project, and for Thomas Stacy’s English Horn Seminar in Carmel, CA. A native of Worcester, Massachusetts, Mr. Sedgwick holds a Masters degree in piano performance from the Manhattan School of Music as a student of Marc Silverman, and a B.A. in English Literature from Brown University, summa cum laude. He is a strong advocate of new music and has premiered works by several contemporary composers including Seymour Barab, J. Mark Stambaugh, Joelle Wallach, and Louis Hardin.
